10 Weeks Already?

My goodness! Time has seriously been disappearing the past week or so. Am I really 10 weeks?? Already? C.R.A.Z.Y! Sorry about the tacky picture, don't make fun. We were headed to Tanner's Beach and I had to make Don take a picture before we headed out. Don't make fun of Tanner's Beach either! When I was younger we would go occasionally and it was pretty redneck if I do say so myself. However, today it was nothing shy of perfect! We were the second family to arrive on the beach and the weather could not have been better. Rory has been a fan of the water lately so we figured why not keep the two of them well aqaunted. It was awesome. Anywho-on to the weekly update
How Far Along: 10 whole weeks!
Size of Baby: a prune
Total Weight Gained/Lost: back down to 0, yahoo!
Maternity Clothes: No. In fact, I quit wearing some of the maternity shirts I was wearing because they are really big now that I am not as bloated. They currently are worn strictly as moo-moos
Movement: No :( I do feel some flutter every now and them and try to convince myself that its the baby, but its not...just gas
Sleep: Goint good. I took a 4 hour nap yesterday. I'd say I'm not lacking sleep at the moment
What I miss: Nothing at the moment
 Cravings: Just about everything
Aversions: None what-so-ever
Symptoms: My bloating has decreased tremendously and I am almost back on track with my bowels!! Can I get an Amen? Lets hope it lasts. My bump is now getting firm and starting to feel mor like a baby bump :) Been feeling kinda blah lately. Cramping here and there. Pain in my left hip that sometimes radiates down my thight. Maybe a pressed nerve?
Highlights from this week: Hearing B2's heartbeat, of course. This was Don's first whole week off so that was pretty nice too!

2nd Dr.'s Appointment!

So I went to my second Dr.'s visit today. It went great! B2 is growing steadily and suprisingly I measured 10 weeks to the day. According to what they told me last visit I should only be 9 weeks and 5 days, but I'll take those two extra days!

B2's heartbeat has sped up quite a bit to keep up with the rapid growth. Just 3 weeks ago it was 135bpm and today it was 162! Wowzers, thats a fast heartbeat. I can't believe how quickly our little bean is growing. At 6 weeks and 5 days B2 was not quite a centimeter long and today came in at 3.18cm. How cool!!

Don was unable to attend this visit due to Rory being at home, but I got to see little arms and legs---even fingers! And most importantly... I HEARD the heartbeat!! Hooray! That means the chance of something going wrong at this point is slim to none. It was just as fascinating this time around to see this baby growing inside of me! I love it already!!

Everything went great with baby today, but during my papsmear Dr. Huff noticed that my uterus is tilted. Say whay?!? Apparently it is tilted backward vs. being upright. Typically, the uterus will straighten itself out. As of right now this does not pose a risk to me or baby but if it does not straighten in the future something will have to be done. When the uterus stays tilted as the baby grows it puts excess pressure on the pelvic bones and causes severe pain. In this case, they will give medication to relax the uterus and go in and manually manuever the uterus into its proper position. Umm...no thank you! I don't want anyone fooling around in my hoo-ha anymore than they have to. In the 8 years that Dr. Huff has been practicing, she has only had one case where this issue has become complicated. Its rare for anything to go wrong and ridiculous for me to stress myself out about it now. So, to keep things looking up take a look at the ultrasound pictures that were taken today...

**Next Appointment is in 4 weeks, August 25th.

9 Weeks

How Far Along: 9 weeks, this week went by incredibly fast! That makes me happy. I'm not trying to wish away the next 9 months...just the next 4 weeks. Come on second trimester!
Size of Baby: a green olive or grape
Total Weight Gained/Lost: +1
Maternity Clothes: Just for comfort occasionally. So far all my pre-preggo clothes fit, I just look fat in them
Movement: No NO No, not yet
Sleep: better, much better. In fact, I've been drooling lately. Clearly I'm sleeping better than I think
What I miss: Being able to eat fish whenever I wanted! I'm told to stay away from shellfish and to eat no more than 12oz. of fish/seafood a week. Do you know how much I looove seafood?!? Did I mention we were at the beach last week! I was pissed
Cravings: Once I start eating something I crave it until the entire box or bag is gone! Not a good sign
Aversions: None
Symptoms: I feel great--honestly! I've gotten use to peeing all the time and the sore nipples. I have a keen sense of smell right now. My cramping  has subsided for now; however, if I stand too fast or pick up Rory too quickly sharps knives stab through my lower abdomen--that's normal--just my ligaments stretching, but OUCH! That happens rarely and other than that I have no complaints.
Highlights from this week: The beach for 4 days! It was so relaxing and made time just fly by
* Next Dr.'s appointment is in just 2 days!!

8 Weeks

How Far Along: 8 Weeks
Size of Baby: Approx. 0.63 inch
Total Weight Gained/Lost: 0 (actually 1/2 a pound, but I'm only going to add while pounds) using my at-home digital scale--although, I know it looks like I've gained 15lbs already. Trust me... I feel that way too!
Maternity Clothes: Not yet. I've bought a few maternity shirts that are too big right now but I wear them occasionally for comfort
Movement: Nope
Sleep: Much better. I've gotten use to sleeping on my side and usually only wake to go to the bathroom or to roll over from one side to the other. My arms tend to fall asleep though which is really annoying
What I miss: Beer. Don brought some Blue Moon beers home a few nights ago and I could just taste the deliciousness. I just want one with the biggest orange slice you've ever seen. Yummy! Only 200+ more days :)
Cravings: Holy Chick-Fil A sauce!! I can't get enough of it. Oh...its so devine! The smell, the color, the mouth watering taste... ah! Just pour me a glass!
Aversions: None
Symptoms: Sore boobies, cramping occasionally, weight shifting to the front. I have also developed the weirdest symptom yet...sore teeth. Hopefully this is pregnancy related and my teeth aren't actually going to fall out. I went for a run this week and my teeth or gums or something ached--all over. It was the weirdest sensation. Am I falling apart? Dentures already?
Highlights from this week:  Reaching week 8. Some days go by fast and some really slow. The first trimester is 2/3 of the way over!
*Please observe how crooked my hips/waist/body is in the pictures below. I can't tell if I'm crooked or if one side of my waist is just bigger than the other side right now---so weird!

7 Weeks!

How Far Along: 7 Weeks
Size of Baby: Macadamian nut, 1/3-1/2 an inch
Total Weight Gained/Lost: 0
Maternity Clothes: Nope
Movement: Too early
Sleep: Still lacking. Using the bathroom 1-2 times a night and I absolutely cannot get comfortable
What I miss: This week I REALLY miss being able to run until my legs just cant run anymore. Apparently while pregnant, thats a big no-no! Reading all these articles about exercising while pregnant has made me uber paranoid!
Cravings: Sweets of all kinds! I have been trying to at least walk a couple of nights a week just to balance out the amount of sweets I've been eating. I was hoping I wouldn't gain as much weight this pregnancy. Uh oh...
Aversions: None
Symptoms: Sore boobies, mild cramping, bloating, constipation (too much info?), developing a pooch
Highlights from this week: Seeing little bean's heart beat. I was nervouse beforehand, but she got the u/s ready and in just second B2's heartbeat showed up immediately. So amazing!!
Don and I also completed the Peachtree Roadrace on the 4th! Woohoo...6.2 miles! We signed up months ago so I didn't want to back out. We ran/walked the race, but it was still fun. Like I said, those dang exercise articles FREAK ME OUT! I was constantly worried about getting too hot or letting my heart rate get up too high. After running the first mile, I convinced myself to take it easy and walk and I drug Don down with me. Baha! He was such a trooper!

Everyone Knows!

Secrets Out! Finally---it feels so wonderful to get the baby news off our chests. Keeping a secret is so hard! Anyone who knows me would agree that I have a problem keeping secrets, so these past 3 weeks have felt like eternity!! But now everyone knows and all is good. Both sets of grandparents are just thrilled to death of course. My cousin, who is basically like my sister, is having a little girl in October so our youngins will be very close in age and will hopefully grow very fond of one another. Don and I both come from small families, so watching our family now expand around us is so comforting and such a blessing!! I can't wait for what the future has in store.

Baby #2: First Dr.'s Appointment!

I went to my first Dr.'s appointment this afternoon and feel like the weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Ah...and it feels so good. B2 is prefectly healthy and everything looks A-okay! Our little bean has a heart rate of 135bpm and measures 0.79 centimeters, which is only about 1/3 of an inch. I'll scan ultrasound pictures and post them for all to see!!

Unfortunately Dr. Elliott has moved to Atlanta and will no longer be my OB. I am completely heart broken. I fell in love with her while I was pregnant with Rory and even more so after she delivered him. She was so down to earth and close to my age so I felt so comfortable with her. ;( I will now be rotating between Dr. Huff and Helton. I'm not in love with either one of them. Boo! There is a female Dr. coming in November, so maybe--just maybe, she will steal my heart.

Anywho, back to B2. I have known now for exactly 3 weeks that I am pregnant. I tested positive 2 days after my period and ta-dah!! But apparently my calculation was a little off. Or really, my dang period was a little off. It came late in May (my last month having a period) so I'm not actually as far along as I thought I was. Even though I've know for 3 weeks, which should make me at least 7 weeks, due to my miscalculated period schedule, I tested two days before my period was due instead of two days after. I'm only 6w5d as of todays visit due to my miscalculation. What?!?
Those of you who have not been pregnant, don't think about it too hard. Its confusing until a doctor makes you feel stupid and explains it to you.

I just thought I was excited before but now I can express my excitement! WooHoo! We are telling our parents this evening! Yay!

*I go back for my second Dr.'s visit for another ultrasound and bloodwork on July 27th...hoo-rah!...just 3 weeks away! :)

1 More Day!!

Ah! The anxiety is killing me. My 1st Dr.'s appointment is tomorrow at 3:20 and I can hardly wait. I'm pretty sure she told me that they would do an ultrasound; but I'm not 100%--maybe that was me wishful thinking. I really hope they do so that I can at least see the heartbeat if not hear it. Fingers crossed! I have been thinking about it and been feeling so uneassy about it for the past 3 weeks! Pray that things go well! I'll keep ya posted!

6 Weeks!

How Far Along: 6 Weeks
Size of Baby: Poppyseed, about .25 inches
Total Weight Gained/Lost: 0
Maternity Clothes: Sadly, no

Movement: Nope
Sleep: Its getting better. I'm learning how to get more comfortable. Right now I just use a long pillow between my legs, but I think that I may have to invest in one of those body pillows in the near future.
What I miss: As of today, nothing that I can think of
Cravings: Still hot sauce and peppers. Banana peppers in particular
Aversions: Cantalope with salt. Don loves it and thought it would be a good idea to put salt on all the cantalope without telling me. I took one bite and right back out it came! Yucky yuck yuck!
Symptoms: Not near as tired as I was, but I still nap :) Haven't been cramping or anything lately. In fact, I don't currently even feel pregnant except for my super sore ta-tas.
Highlights from this week: Losing most of the pregnancy symptoms. It makes me nervous that I don't go to the Dr. until next week and I no longer feel pregnant; however, it has felt so good to get energy back and lose the cramping/bloating feeling. Fingers crossed, everything will go well next week
